About Cultural & Social Program
Cultural & social program is a daily part of international online schools. It provides an exceptional opportunity for students to discover Russian traditions and way of life and observe live virtual excursions. The cultural program includes many activities. All excursions are streamed in a real-time mode. Cultural part includes live virtual tours around Samara city and Russia to: The Old Town of Samara; The Samara City’s Embankment; The Historical Leningradskaya street; The Campus of Samara University; The Traditional Russian Cafés and Stores; The Acquaintance with Russian Way of Life. Moreover international online schools take students to unique sightseeings of Samara National Research University: The Studying Airfield of Samara University; Museum of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Samara University. Along with excursions the organizational team prepares two marvelous master classes: Cooking master class andmaster class of knitting traditional Russian dolls ‘Martenichki’. Social part of the program includes online playing games with the team of international school and online playing quiz about Russian culture.
Excursion to the Training Airfield of Samara University
The training airfield of Samara University is a small airfield in the Samara region close to the city. Aircrafts of various types are based on the airfield. They are used for educational purposes by students and staff of the University. Students who study at aviation specialities practice here, with real models of aircrafts, to apply their knowledge. They repair and start engines, perform maintenance, start gearbox, work with electrical equipment and so on. Along with summer practice and internships, there are also workshops held here! Students come here, spend some time in the rooms learning theoretical materials and then go out to practice on real aircrafts! Yeah! It’s true!
Cooking Masterclass
Russian cuisine is an extraordinary mixture of various tastes. There are pancakes, salads, soups, appetizers, main dishes, drinks, sweets and other delisious dishes. Online school provides a unique opportunity to try cooking traditional meals of Russian cuisine by your own. You will try russian pancakes - bliny - and Russian winter salad - olivier - together with the team of international school via online platform. Online City Tour Around Samara
The main mission of our international school is to make participants feel like they are truly in Russia though it is only via modern means of online streamings.We broaden horizons and offer students to participate in virtual tour around Samara city and visit main sightseeings of the space capital of Russia! Professional guide will give a tour from different points of Samara city: Glory Square with sightseeing point, marvelous St. George Cathedral, the biggest square in Europe - Kuybyshev Square, mysterious Stalin's Bunker, Samara Space Museum and the real rocket SOYUZ. Russian Souvenir's Master Class
Russian culture has a unique singularity due to its long and intense history. We offer students to immerse themselves in Russian way of life and make their own souvenirs. Martenichki are traditional Russian dolls that are made in cause of changing seasons from winter to spring. Participants knit their own martenichka doll together with the committee member of inernational schools. Steps of kniting are simple so everyone are pleased to create the doll. The list of needed materials is provided. Let's have some fun together!
Acquaintance with Russian Way of Life
Let the International Schools Team introduce you to the beauty and diversity of Russia! This presentation illustrates the key features of the country, its nations, peculiarities and culture. Presentation is streamed online with live narrative and performance. The structure of presentation consists of 10 main topics: general facts about Russia and Samara city, Russian contrasts, nature, peculiarities, food, winter and summer activities, traditional songs and dances and Russian language.
