Samara University provided students an extraordinary chance to implement their knowledge on the authentic equipment. Thus, participants attended the training airfield of Samara University!

What is training airfield? The training airfield of the Samara University is a small airfield in the Samara region close to the city. Likewise other university's departments, it's a division of the Aircraft Maintenance Department. Aircrafts of various types are based at the airfield, they are used for educational purposes by students and staff of the university. Students of aviation majors practice here - with real models of aircrafts - to apply their knowledge each summer and autumn. They repair and start engines, perform maintenance, start gearbox, work with electrical equipment and so on. Moreover real classes take place here! Students come here, spend some time in the rooms for learning some theoretical materials and then go out for practice on real aircrafts!

Participants of summer schools visited the airfield on 21st July, 2023, to learn more about Soviet and Russian aviation and apply information from the lectures on the airplanes and helicopters. It was such a surprise for students to come to the wing of the supersonic aircraft Tu-144, start the engine of An-2 by starting to rotate the engine blades, control the signals on dashboard. The Mi-8 helicopter was ready to take off from the land and fly away! It was a fantastic experience at the marvelous location!
